Side Hustles

4 Ways to Find Your Side Hustle While Working Full Time

December 29, 2017

Do you want to get ahead financially a lot faster? Find and start a side-gig, side-hustle, or side-job that can bring in extra money on top of your current full-time job.

  1. Start a Business

Are you good at something? Photography? Changing oil? Making jewelry? Cleaning? Social Media? Cutting and styling hair? Cooking? Graphic design? Fixing computers? Making videos? Building websites? Painting? Fixing things around the home? Building things?

Any one of these can be turned into a side business bringing in extra cash to help you pay off debt, save money, and retire early. You never know, it might just turn into your full-time business allowing you to quit the 9-5 and be your own boss. Disclaimer – owning and running a successful business is hard work, but rewarding and liberating as well. Use my start a business checklist to get yours up and going fast.

  1. Start a Blog

Are you passionate about something? Do you like to travel or live an interesting life? Want to help others?

If you can find a unique blogging niche that you are excited about and enjoy writing, this might be a great fit for you. The nice thing about blogging is that you can do it from anywhere at any time. Find step-by-step instructions on my start a blog page.

  1. Become a Consultant, Certified Coach, Teacher, Instructor, or Certified Trainer

Are you knowledgeable or certified in something that people will pay you for your advice, coaching, instruction, training, or expertise?

Could you become a financial coach, business consultant, sales or marketing consultant, HR consultant, nutritional consultant, personal trainer, compliance guru, music lesson teacher, sports coach for middle school or high school, yoga instructor, or self-defense instructor? If your friends, family, and associates coming to you for advice, or if you’re passionate about a particular topic and can dive in, get certified, or the right credentials, turn it in to a paying side-hustle.

  1. Try Direct Sales

There are lots of opportunities to make some extra cash with very established direct sales companies. Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Thirty-One, Rodan and Fields, Young Living, doTERRA, BeachBody, Isagenix, Lularoe, Traveling Vineyard, and the list goes on. If you find a product that you love, chances are others will to. Many times, these are a low up-front investment opportunity, and with a little motivation can provide a great income boost.

Does this sound like extra work? Well, it is, but as a full-time mom who owns a blog, runs a business with her husband, and provides marketing services to two companies, I can tell you it’s worth it to be debt-free, to still be able to eat dinner with my family and attend all my kids activities, and build a life that allows financial independence, rest, and relaxation, it’s so worth it.
